Resumen: A mediados de marzo de 1938, durante la Guerra Civil española, empezaron a llegar al castillo de Castelldefels, en calidad de detenidos de las Brigadas Internacionales, algunos grupos de desertores de sus unidades. Poco más tarde también fueron recluidos por diversas causas disciplinarias en dicho castillo otros brigadistas procedentes de Albacete, al cerrarse por la marcha del conflicto las prisiones allí ubicadas. Pero no sólo el castillo era ocupado por las Brigadas Internacionales, también la fábrica Rocalla en abril de dicho año era utilizada como base de una sección de su Parque Automovilístico. Las Brigadas Internacionales permanecieron en la ciudad hasta finales de enero de 1939, cuando se retiraron ante el avance franquista. Más de mil brigadistas pasaron posiblemente por Castelldefels a lo largo de diez meses de compleja relación entre sus responsables y la ciudad, y donde encontramos abundantes testimonios de malos tratos en el interior del castillo y de la lucha de las autoridades republicanas contra los mismos.

Summary: In mid-March 1938, during the Spanish Civil War, began to reach the castle of Castelldefels, as detainees of the International Brigades, groups of deserters from their units.
